Combat is not random – Command Hero attacks his or her opponent, then must deal with any enemies nearby in order to complete his / her move.
All units have individual morale (health) and can be injured or killed in combat, permanently removing the unit from the game.
Command Heroes uses a separate deck of “Command Cards” which consists of 4 Command and 4 Support cards.
Each Command card has a unique Attack Value and a unique Support card to apply to the Command card when used. Support cards can grant faction bonuses, add units, or remove them from the game.
It is recommended to purchase AI upgrades (Tiny Red Menace package, Anybody Hungry? package) and/or to take advantage of the “rules cartridge” (multiple games saved for free on a select number of games).
The computer has access to the benefits of every faction such as border cards, sabotage cards, and family synergies – plus units you cannot deploy such as Incoming! (which attacks any unit on the battlefield).
While all Faction Cards are used in the multiplayer game, the computer will also utilize each card once it is discarded.
Setting up an initial game is fast & painless.
