After downloading the full version you can install the program manually.
Or you can also download a trial version and start using it. If you opt for the trial version, it will also be installed on your computer and you will not be able to change the options.
The full version contains 2 different kind of installation packages:
The executable file: This can be run directly after downloading. The program simply needs to be extracted to a directory and the installation starts automatically.
The binary installer package: The package contains the software installers.
To use the binary installer you need to unpack the downloaded package with any zip tool of your choice and run the executable files located inside.
Alternatively, you can also directly download the executable file from the original site and run it.
After installing the executable package you can start using the program immediately. The main window is the main editor area where you can place your objects and they will be arranged in 3D scene. If you want to define animations, you can also place your created elements on a layer. When everything is done, you can export the model to a zip file and to your desired output format. The exported files can then be opened and viewed with other applications like 3D Viewer or open with Autodesk Fusion 360.

Historic Urban Modeler has a feature called “Attach”. “Attach” allows you to connect one object to another and consequently make that second object a part of the first. You can also move and rotate them together.
“Attach” is an excellent feature for architectural models. For example, you could make walls on the ground a part of a building.
In architectural modeling, the term “attach” usually refers to “part”.
“Part” is any model element that is connected to any other model element.
Each of these model elements (models, parts, objects, etc.) has various attributes that can be adjusted. For example, its speed, its weight, its distance from other objects, etc.
Make your own house by right-clicking on the ground plane and select “Create Part”.
After clicking on “Create Part”, you will see the modifier in the bottom right of the window. Click and hold on the modifier to open the properties window.
The properties window allows you to select which three dimensional object you want to make the part.
Then go to the bottom window and click the drop-down list on Part Name to change the name of the part.
Now, right-click on the map and select “Create Part”.
You can create as many parts as you want by using the model building power.
To learn more about part editing, simply go to the Help menu and select “Edit Part”.
